ABOUT THE SERVER
The E5300 CPU (Central Processing Unit) is built on the same architecture that powers today's
most powerful servers. This is one of Intel's mainstream chips and is able to handle a massive workload.
If your application requires more "horse power" then upgrade to a quad core processor. Our servers
are future-proof because they can be easily upgraded to a quad core CPU at any time.
In the recent past, CPU performance was measured in Megahertz, it was a simple comparison between the slowest and fastest processors.
Today, you need to account for how many cores (processors) are in one chip, 64 bit support, virtualization extensions and GHz per watt.
Often, the actual speed of the CPU is not a consideration.
We make it easy for you by providing a single latest Dual Core and one Quad Core option.
Only the current mainline CPUs are offered. When making a decision you
can be sure it's the right one.
Q: How fast is this processor?
A: For the vast majority of our customers, the answer is simple: VERY FAST!
This much processing power was simply not available just a few years ago.
The truth is that most clients need dedicated servers for other reasons than
raw processing power, they need dedicated I/O, RAM, or the security of being
the only user of the hardware.
The real secret to performance
What most customers really need is a dedicated I/O (input/output) hard drive system
with quick drives and no other clients to share the load.
Some customers might benefit from the new developments in SSD hard drives
for speedy mysql access.
RAID1 (Mirror)
Each system comes with a single hard drive by default. Everyone is encouraged to consider
an additional hard drive and the RAID1 option to have the
safety-net of mirror RAID, which replicates all your data to both hard drives, helping to avoid data loss in the event of catastrophic hard drive failure.
